One Ugly Lie Every Woman Should Know

I parked my van in a hurry.  (Sometimes I dream of life after “the van.”)  That day I was headed to meet with a client in a coffee shop.  We meet at Twisted Dishes because the service is as genuine and warm as the coffee.

Just the kick we need.

Fast forward to the nitty gritty of our coaching session…

She has been working with me for nearly three months now.  She hired me because her negative thoughts were causing her to build up resentment towards her friends and husband.  Her goal was to stop caring so much about what others thought of her decisions “because you can’t please everyone.”

She wanted more balance.  More time off.  And that is what she got!

She craved to be able to leave work at work, to spend more quality time with her children and to share more intimacy with her husband.  Hear where she’s coming from?  Many of my clients share this client’s pain.  They yearn to have more balance, more time off, closer relationships.  Good thing I know how to help!

There is one ugly lie that women need to know.  Here it is.  The lie.

“I don’t have enough time.”

Maybe you tell yourself this lie, just like my client used to.  She’s a busy mom and physician.  She juggles A LOT.  Maybe she felt like she should just suck it up and settle for a busy, stressful, fun-lacking life.

I helped her identify some of her beliefs around busyness and time.  The next step was changing her beliefs.  Now she’s making decisions in light of what SHE wants to do which = more free time and more FUN.

She’s just as busy but now the big challenges seem small to her because of how strong she has become.  She doesn’t care as much about what people will think of her because of her decisions.  I’m so happy for her!!

She decided she wasn’t going to settle.  Will you?

Testimonials

One key principle Amy encouraged me to implement was to guard my rest (unplugging from the world and its demands). As I took care of myself better my focus and energy increased as well as my resiliency to deal with my life as a whole.  I saw how this internal peace improved my decision making, conflict resolution and even building up my business.

As a physician and mother, itʼs always been a challenge to balance work, home and self-care, but now I have more tools and ideas to make this easier.  Amy helped me set clear goals to improve my quality of life and it was amazing to see the improvement over the course of the eight sessions.

Amy helped me identify and acknowledge my insecurities and fears.  Now I know I don’t have to live in fear. I don’t have to be afraid to show the world who I am.

My time management has radically improved and I am getting a better handle on my finances.  Most importantly, my personal dreams and spiritual goals are flourishing.  My ability to relate well to my coworkers and handle my own stress has also benefited immensely.
