The fear of rejection, just like any other fear, is based on the unknown.  You don’t know if you will be rejected but the possibility limits you.

Making your decisions so others will like you is exhausting and ultimately keeps you from feeling fulfilled.  Being overly concerned with how others view you limits the decisions you choose to make.

If you find yourself holding back from making decisions in line with your values due to your fear of being rejected, here are some specific keys to stop fearing rejection:

1)  Think of the worst case scenario.  If someone really does reject you (in a business or personal relationship) what are a few different ways you could get over it?  Give yourself time to feel your emotions and then take action.  Even if the world feels like it’s ending, it won’t really.  You’ll be able to recover and in most cases, the recovery won’t be as difficult as you think.  Some people feel their stress decreases if they have a plan to deal with potential rejection.

2)  Increase your self awareness.  Choose to make decisions from a place of self awareness and confidence.  The more you know about what’s most important to you, the easier it will be to make decisions in line with those values.  Will you decide to keep the peace or honor yourself and feel happy and content about your decisions afterwards?

3)  Remember that it’s not about you.     When you are rejected, remember that it’s not always a reflection of you and your worth.  Sometimes people just have bad days.

4)  Get the ball rolling.  Take small steps that involve conquering your fear of rejection.  The more you succeed, the less of a hold fear will have on you.

Avoiding all rejection leads to a boring, people pleasing life.  It’s safe, but oh so lifeless.  Search for smaller, manageable situations where there’s a risk of rejection.  Give yourself opportunities to grow.  Your confidence and ability to bounce back from rejection will both grow!  You can check out my blog posts and facebook page to read about other self care strategies and tips.  That would be a great place to start.

These are the types of challenges I help my private clients overcome. I work in depth with each client to make sure they experience deep breakthroughs in their personal challenges.

Testimonials

As a physician and mother, itʼs always been a challenge to balance work, home and self-care, but now I have more tools and ideas to make this easier.  Amy helped me set clear goals to improve my quality of life and it was amazing to see the improvement over the course of the eight sessions.
Anonymous Physician Chick
One key principle Amy encouraged me to implement was to guard my rest (unplugging from the world and its demands). As I took care of myself better my focus and energy increased as well as my resiliency to deal with my life as a whole.  I saw how this internal peace improved my decision making, conflict resolution and even building up my business.
Jenn Co.
My life is fuller than it was before I met Amy.  I have more confidence and zest for life!  I want to do more for me and by doing so, for others.
Holly Brading
My time management has radically improved and I am getting a better handle on my finances.  Most importantly, my personal dreams and spiritual goals are flourishing.  My ability to relate well to my coworkers and handle my own stress has also benefited immensely.
Kisa Macdonald, Lawyer
Amy helped me identify and acknowledge my insecurities and fears.  Now I know I don’t have to live in fear. I don’t have to be afraid to show the world who I am.

During my coaching sessions with Amy I was given many techniques to deal with personal stress provoking situations.  I regularly use these techniques now.
