Packed Schedule?  Your Plan To Create Breathing Room

By Amy Englemark

5-10 minutes is all you need to create breathing room in your packed schedule.

“Packed schedule?  That’s an understatement!”  you may be thinking.  What I’ve found from my coaching experience is that the majority of women who work out of the home experience intense amounts of stress due to their fast paced lives (sometimes coupled with parenting).  I know I have experienced this!

If this is the case with you.  I want to share the strategy I use to create breathing room.

1)  Treat your days like you would a puzzle.  As you put a puzzle together, you’re looking for the missing pieces.  These are the small (or large) chunks of free time that are going unnoticed.  These missing puzzle pieces will offer you time to think, be and rest.

It’s so easy to overcommit and put yourself last on your list.  I’ve done it!  I’ll make sure my kids or husband have everything they need and then feel frazzled because I haven’t taken care of my needs.

You may be a ‘yes’ person.  This is someone who always says yes to others requests for your help or yes to the boss who needs someone to stay late.  You might even choose to say yes because you feel guilty if you don’t.  Sadly, the end result of overcommiting is lack of breathing room for you.

For now, let’s work on the missing puzzle pieces; the free time in your day you don’t even know exists.  Even spending a few extra minutes a day on yourself can help you ease a lot of stress!

2)  Identify how (and to whom) you’re giving your time away.  Just play this game with me even if you truly feel you don’t have an iota of extra time to spare.  My hunch is that you’ll find what you didn’t know you had!  You could gather extra time for yourself by:

  • First, believing YOU CAN find time for yourself
  • Limiting your time online
  • Communicating your priorities to others and then creating healthy boundaries to support how you want to spend your time
  • Developing a new morning routine for yourself
  • Hopping into bed earlier
  • Watching what you eat or drink (to promote better sleep and a healthier thought life)

Where have the puzzle pieces fallen?

Are you letting precious time fall through the cracks?

Let me know HERE how and where you are finding more time for yourself.  Lots of love to you as you balance your beautiful life!

Ciao!

Amy

Testimonials

As a physician and mother, itʼs always been a challenge to balance work, home and self-care, but now I have more tools and ideas to make this easier.  Amy helped me set clear goals to improve my quality of life and it was amazing to see the improvement over the course of the eight sessions.
Anonymous Physician Chick
One key principle Amy encouraged me to implement was to guard my rest (unplugging from the world and its demands). As I took care of myself better my focus and energy increased as well as my resiliency to deal with my life as a whole.  I saw how this internal peace improved my decision making, conflict resolution and even building up my business.
Jenn Co.
During my coaching sessions with Amy I was given many techniques to deal with personal stress provoking situations.  I regularly use these techniques now.
Monique Robertson
My time management has radically improved and I am getting a better handle on my finances.  Most importantly, my personal dreams and spiritual goals are flourishing.  My ability to relate well to my coworkers and handle my own stress has also benefited immensely.

My life is fuller than it was before I met Amy.  I have more confidence and zest for life!  I want to do more for me and by doing so, for others.
Holly Brading
Amy helped me identify and acknowledge my insecurities and fears.  Now I know I don’t have to live in fear. I don’t have to be afraid to show the world who I am.
