Can A Woman Truly Regret Having Children?

Can a woman truly regret having children?  Yes, she can.  For others, regret can come and go like waves.

Regret:  disappointment, a missed opportunity

When you have children, you can feel like you’re missing out.  Parenting can feel like a ball and chain.  You are constantly putting their needs before your own.  You might feel oppressed by your constant responsibility for them.

Very few conversations get to be finished.  Mopping the floor and keeping the house tidy are nearly impossible!  Kids hinder you from being as spontaneous as you might want to be.  They strip you of precious sleep and limit you from wearing white, unless you’re a risk taker!

According to an anonymous contributor on a parenting site:

“A child will completely destroy your life…to replace it with a different, but beautiful one.”

I hope you know you’re not the only person who feels this way about their kids!  You are definately not alone.  As a busy mom (or dad), juggling work and family life (not to mention personal time) is A LOT!  There is a flip side to parenting I want you to remember when you feel that pang of regret.

They give you rare opportunities that might not be found anywhere else!

Opportunity to gain a fresh perspective on yourself and on life.

Opportunity to improve your patience and many other aspects of who you are at your core.

Opportunity to appreciate life more, to revel in slowness, colors, textures and the beauty of the moon…especially you parents of wee, wee ones.

Opportunity to have more fun and be less serious.  As an adult you can start thinking you need to be more serious the more responsibility you have.  That’s not true.  You can be responsible and have fun!

I just created a video teaching the Inner Strength group members how to have more emotional balance.  Our topic for August is creating balance in all areas of your life.  Let me show you how you can have incredible life balance.  Check out the details and join us anytime for support, accountability and great training!!  I’d love to have you in the group…

Keep Shining!

Testimonials

During my coaching sessions with Amy I was given many techniques to deal with personal stress provoking situations.  I regularly use these techniques now.
Monique Robertson
One key principle Amy encouraged me to implement was to guard my rest (unplugging from the world and its demands). As I took care of myself better my focus and energy increased as well as my resiliency to deal with my life as a whole.  I saw how this internal peace improved my decision making, conflict resolution and even building up my business.
Jenn Co.
My life is fuller than it was before I met Amy.  I have more confidence and zest for life!  I want to do more for me and by doing so, for others.
Holly Brading
My time management has radically improved and I am getting a better handle on my finances.  Most importantly, my personal dreams and spiritual goals are flourishing.  My ability to relate well to my coworkers and handle my own stress has also benefited immensely.
Kisa Macdonald, Lawyer
Amy helped me identify and acknowledge my insecurities and fears.  Now I know I don’t have to live in fear. I don’t have to be afraid to show the world who I am.
Rocio Olvera
As a physician and mother, itʼs always been a challenge to balance work, home and self-care, but now I have more tools and ideas to make this easier.  Amy helped me set clear goals to improve my quality of life and it was amazing to see the improvement over the course of the eight sessions.
