Passion vs. Apathy

Who would want to be referred to as apathetic? Not me. I would feel like I let myself down. I might feel embarrassed. Yet it’s easy to allow ourselves to be apathetic about almost anything, to give up. Passion takes effort. On the other hand, sometimes it comes naturally and is effortless. Desire and interest mixed with confidence and something special that seems untangible, that spells passion to me. Being described as passionate, that would be a big compliment to me. I would take the compliment to mean that I am bursting with life, firey and strong. What has to be involved to create passion in your life? What does passion mean to you?

When you take the time to dwell on questions that focus on the heart of your matter you may be suprised at what bubbles to the surface. Maybe you’re longing for more in your relationship. You may feel like you’ve lost what you had with your spouse when you first got together. Lots of people go to work every day feeling much less than passionate about their jobs. Others feel somewhat lost in life, without purpose. The opposite of all of these situations is GREAT! Personally I LOVE to discover how spouses keep their relationships fresh and alive. When someone reveals that they love their career, that makes me feel great. When I spend time with people who know what they want in life and are pursuing that, I get giddy!

So if you find yourself dealing with something I’ve just mentioned and you don’t like how it feels to stay in that place, consider this. These are a few questions you can ask yourself if you want to shift from feeling apathetic to passionate, “What is missing in my life right now?” “What am I longing for?” “What’s holding me back from attaining what I want?”. Be true to yourself. Listen to the answers that come up.

There’s always more passion to come in life. Cheers to walking together and supporting each other in finding it and then keeping it!

As a physician and mother, itʼs always been a challenge to balance work, home and self-care, but now I have more tools and ideas to make this easier.  Amy helped me set clear goals to improve my quality of life and it was amazing to see the improvement over the course of the eight sessions.
Anonymous Physician Chick
During my coaching sessions with Amy I was given many techniques to deal with personal stress provoking situations.  I regularly use these techniques now.
Monique Robertson
My time management has radically improved and I am getting a better handle on my finances.  Most importantly, my personal dreams and spiritual goals are flourishing.  My ability to relate well to my coworkers and handle my own stress has also benefited immensely.
Kisa Macdonald, Lawyer
One key principle Amy encouraged me to implement was to guard my rest (unplugging from the world and its demands). As I took care of myself better my focus and energy increased as well as my resiliency to deal with my life as a whole.  I saw how this internal peace improved my decision making, conflict resolution and even building up my business.
Jenn Co.
Amy helped me identify and acknowledge my insecurities and fears.  Now I know I don’t have to live in fear. I don’t have to be afraid to show the world who I am.
