Be Successful And Take Good Care Of Yourself At The Same Time

Maybe you’re like I was and you think “I can either be successful or take really good care of myself but I can’t manage both.”  Then I read Harv T. Ekar’s book, Secrets of the Millionaire Mind, and I decided that I could have both.

I feel overwhelmed when I expect too much success or picture perfectof myself too quickly.  How about you?  It’s a debilitating feeling that zaps me of energy and ability to focus.  In order to have both success and great self care habits, you have to start small.

Start the Flow

Start with a small goal and try it out for a week.  Start ridiculously small so that you know you’ll be able to achieve it.  For example, let’s say you’re already successful in your profession and your goal is to make more time for yourself.  For the first week, maybe exercise for 5 minutes a day.  That exercise could be a walk, yoga, whatever you like to do.  Maybe you want to eat healthier.  For the first week, you cut a little of your fast food out or you add just a little more of the good stuff in.

Next week, add a few minutes (just a few) a day to your exercise time.  Focus on purchasing food or treats for yourself that are healthy and that you already like.  Have fun picking tasty food for yourself that will feel satisfying and will also offer great nutrition.

Focus on What’s Awesome, Not What’s Hard

Will incorporating exercise or healthier food choices into your life be hard?  Not necessarily.  Your new choices don’t have to be hard. For example, you can train your brain to focus on the benefits of exercise or opting for healthy food.  How will you feel about yourself after even a few days of taking better care of yourself?  Personally,  my confidence, self control and sense of joy increase after I’ve made a healthy choice for myself.  Physically, you might become stronger and more slender.  Mentally, you’ll have more energy and probably start believing that making time for yourself isn’t all that difficult.

Success and Self Care Go Hand In Hand

I know you’ve got what it takes!  I also know you’ve got 2 minutes a day you could spend on yourself.  You will thank yourself later!  Healthy self care habits will not only prolong your life but make you more successful in business and in your relationships.  What will you do to start taking better care of yourself?  How will you start to be successful AND have awesome self care habits?

Testimonials

As a physician and mother, itʼs always been a challenge to balance work, home and self-care, but now I have more tools and ideas to make this easier.  Amy helped me set clear goals to improve my quality of life and it was amazing to see the improvement over the course of the eight sessions.

Amy helped me identify and acknowledge my insecurities and fears.  Now I know I don’t have to live in fear. I don’t have to be afraid to show the world who I am.
Rocio Olvera
One key principle Amy encouraged me to implement was to guard my rest (unplugging from the world and its demands). As I took care of myself better my focus and energy increased as well as my resiliency to deal with my life as a whole.  I saw how this internal peace improved my decision making, conflict resolution and even building up my business.
Jenn Co.
My life is fuller than it was before I met Amy.  I have more confidence and zest for life!  I want to do more for me and by doing so, for others.
Holly Brading
My time management has radically improved and I am getting a better handle on my finances.  Most importantly, my personal dreams and spiritual goals are flourishing.  My ability to relate well to my coworkers and handle my own stress has also benefited immensely.
Kisa Macdonald, Lawyer
During my coaching sessions with Amy I was given many techniques to deal with personal stress provoking situations.  I regularly use these techniques now.
