From Sick and Tired to Feeling Fabulous

It’s all in your perspective.

Lately I’ve been reminded over and over to keep my gaze up and forward.  Physically speaking, I’m usually reminded of this when I’m walking or riding my mountain bike.  If I focus only on my feet so I won’t trip I will always miss out on the beauty that surrounds me.  If I always look at my front tire I will fall.  I won’t be able to plan ahead to climb the next hill or manoever my way over a log or bridge with ease.  Focus up and forward.

Feeling sick and tired is often a result of what you’re focusing on.  Feeling fabulous is also a result of what you’re focusing on.  You are the one in control of your mind, body and heart.  You can choose what emotions you want to feel.  No one makes you feel the way you do.

There are some things that are out of your control of course.  Night shifts, long shifts, the weather or other people’s behavior are a few examples.  These things that are out of your control do not dictate a certain response from you.  You decide.  Your perspective on the people and situations around you determines your response.  And I say this with all kindness…You are responsible for how you respond.

You must take personal responsibility. You cannot change the circumstances, the seasons, or the wind, but you can change yourself. ~Jim Rohn

When you keep your head up you are choosing to look at where you want to go and who you want to become.  You’re not worrying so much about what ‘could’ happen or what ‘might’ make you fall (and dare I say fail!) rather, you’re choosing to trust and have faith that you will be taken care of.  You do your part, by taking control of your life and becoming who you want to be.  Pushing forward and making things happen despite the perceived obstacles.  Then, a Greater Force steps in and takes care of what you can’t.

Feeling fabulous is within your reach.  You probably already know a few things that might be standing between you and a change in your emotions.  Now, the trick is to look at those obstacles from a new perspective.

Pretend you’re a bird on a wire looking down at yourself and your situation.  You feel those ‘sick and tired’ feelings.  Exactly what is it that is causing you to feel that way?

Identify what the culprit it.  Is it your work environment?  How about an area in your life that you feel is lacking.  Is it due to you not taking care of yourself like you know you need to?

Take a look at how you could prioritize your life in a way that would support you more.  You need support structures to help you move towards the life and emotional state you want to experience.  What’s one shift you could make that would start a positive ripple effect?

Often we overlook that our seriousness, cynicism or pessism plays a role in how we feel.  When you were a kid, I’m guessing you laughed a lot.  Much of your time was probably focused on playing and pursuing what you loved to do.  You might be thinking, “Yeah, yeah, but now I have responsibilities.”

Being a responsible person doesn’t mean you need to lose your zeal for life.  Just because you work and/or raise children doesn’t mean you need to stop laughing and playing.

Laugh.  Laugh everyday.  Laugh more.  Laugh at life.  Decide not to take things so seriously.  Loosen up.  I’ve come a long way in this area.  I’ve learned that taking things lightly makes life a whole lot more fun!  I’ve also learned that humor (used in a healthy way) can make tense conversations a lot lighter and more manageable.

You can get your life back in control!  You can start feeling fabulous today, if you want.  You just need to practice new, life giving habits.  Once you identify what’s making you feel sick and tired, start reprioritzing your life and remember to lighten up you, will be well on your way to making positive changes.

Don’t forget to visit me on my facebook page and let me know about the new habits you’re forming and the positive changes you see taking place in your life!  I’d love to hear and be in regular relationship with you!

Love to you today,

Amy

Amy helped me identify and acknowledge my insecurities and fears.  Now I know I don’t have to live in fear. I don’t have to be afraid to show the world who I am.
Rocio Olvera
One key principle Amy encouraged me to implement was to guard my rest (unplugging from the world and its demands). As I took care of myself better my focus and energy increased as well as my resiliency to deal with my life as a whole.  I saw how this internal peace improved my decision making, conflict resolution and even building up my business.
Jenn Co.
As a physician and mother, itʼs always been a challenge to balance work, home and self-care, but now I have more tools and ideas to make this easier.  Amy helped me set clear goals to improve my quality of life and it was amazing to see the improvement over the course of the eight sessions.
