Becoming A Calm Business Professional

I’ve been wondering…how many of you business owners or professionals have a difficult time remaining calm?  I know I’m not the only one!  I will fall apart without tools to help me.  Today I want to touch on one main tool that helps me stay sane, calm and enjoying life!

If the smallest things irritate you and cause your stomach to twist into a stressful knot, you know something’s got to give!  You don’t want your sanity to go down the drain.  You want to be functioning from a calm place.  This allows you to serve your customers and have an ample amount of energy left for yourself and family when your work day is done.

Communication with Yourself

Be real with yourself.  Allow yourself to feel your emotions.  Emotions aren’t bad.  They give you clues to what needs attention.  Feel it and then practice getting clear on what it is you want.  Do you want control over your situation or maybe a person?  Take a minute to think about what you still have control over in your situation.  Remember, you always have control over yourself, your thoughts and your actions.  You’re in charge of you!

What new perspective could you adopt (about the situation or person that is bothering you) that would lower your emotional level?

Communicate with Others

Once you get clear on how you can internally tweak how you habitually react, you will be responding.  I’ve found the best way to communicate with others is after I’ve had some time to think about the situation.  If you don’t have this luxury, I would suggest to still focus on thoughtfully responding versus reacting without forethought.

Sometimes communicating about your needs with others is all that’s needed to make you feel more calm and less stressed.  Often verbal communication and being heard makes tension dissipate.

I’d love to know, what helps you go from stressed to calm?

Feel free to share your tools with all of us!

Love,

Amy

Testimonials

During my coaching sessions with Amy I was given many techniques to deal with personal stress provoking situations.  I regularly use these techniques now.
Monique Robertson
Amy helped me identify and acknowledge my insecurities and fears.  Now I know I don’t have to live in fear. I don’t have to be afraid to show the world who I am.
Rocio Olvera
My time management has radically improved and I am getting a better handle on my finances.  Most importantly, my personal dreams and spiritual goals are flourishing.  My ability to relate well to my coworkers and handle my own stress has also benefited immensely.
Kisa Macdonald, Lawyer
As a physician and mother, itʼs always been a challenge to balance work, home and self-care, but now I have more tools and ideas to make this easier.  Amy helped me set clear goals to improve my quality of life and it was amazing to see the improvement over the course of the eight sessions.
Anonymous Physician Chick
My life is fuller than it was before I met Amy.  I have more confidence and zest for life!  I want to do more for me and by doing so, for others.
Holly Brading
One key principle Amy encouraged me to implement was to guard my rest (unplugging from the world and its demands). As I took care of myself better my focus and energy increased as well as my resiliency to deal with my life as a whole.  I saw how this internal peace improved my decision making, conflict resolution and even building up my business.
